Salmon May Help You Sleep-Make this for Dinner Tonight

October 17, 2024

Certain foods have been shown to help promote sleep, and fatty fish including salmon, are one of them. Make this recipe for dinner tonight, and help give yourself a better chance at a great night's rest!

Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and ginger (if using).
  2. Marinate the Salmon:

    • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure each fillet is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).
  3. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Bake the Salmon:

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Place the marinated salmon fillets on the sheet, skin side down. Reserve the marinade for later use.
    • Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Make the Glaze:

    • While the salmon is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
  6. Serve:

    • Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven. Drizzle the thickened glaze over the salmon fillets.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Pair your salmon with healthy sides, like broccoli, a side salad, or a rice dish.
